One to Many Mapping In the above mapping diagram, the first element of the domain is mapped with more than one element in the range. So it is called one to many relation. One to many relations is not functions. These diagrams are called one to many mapping diagrams.

### Mapping Function

If A and B are two non-empty sets, then the relation from set A to set B is called a function or mapping or mapping function. The important points about the mapping function are listed here.

• Function ‘f’ from A to B is represented as f: A → B.
• If ‘f’ is a function from A to B and x ∈ A, and then f ( x ) ∈ B and f ( x ) is called the range of x under f, and x is called the domain of f ( x ) under “F”.
