**Renaming Fractions**

You can make trades to find new names for mixed numbers and fractions greater than 1.

Example 1:

Start with 2\(\frac{1}{3}\).

Trade 1 whole for \(\frac{3}{3}\).

Now you have 1 whole and 4 thirds, or 1 \(\frac{4}{3}\).

Another name for 2 \(\frac{1}{3}\) is 1 \(\frac{4}{3}\)

Example 2:
