Given,
Marked Price of the fridge=Rs. 25500
Selling Price of the fridge=Rs. 22000
We know that discount given=marked price – selling price
=Rs. 25500 – 22000
=Rs. 3500
Discount%=Discount/Marked price × 100
=3500/25500 × 100
=13.72%
Hence, the discount is Rs. 3500 and the discount percent is 13.72%.
II. A shopkeeper marked the bicycle for Rs. 10000. He sold it for Rs.9000. What percent discount did he give?

Marked Price of the bicycle=Rs. 10000
Bicycle is sold for=Rs. 9000

Lets wholesaler list prices are= Rs.100
Then wholesaler gives a 30% discount to the retailer.
Then selling price to retailer =100−30=Rs.70
The retailer sells 10% to customer discount on list price =Rs.10
Then, retailer selling price =100−10=Rs. 90
As per the question, the customer paid Rs.114 to the retailer
Then list price =100×150/95
=157
Then C.P of retailer =70×157/100
=109
Profit gain by retailer =150−109=Rs. 41
% of profit =41×100/109
=37.61%
Therefore, the retailer’s profit percentage is 37.61%.
VI. The marked price of an LED TV is Rs.. 48400. A shopkeeper allows three successive discounts of 20%, 10%, and 5% or 10% and a free mobile phone. Find the cost of mobile phone being offered?

Given,
The marked price of an LED TV is =Rs.. 48400
After 20% discount 80/100 × 48,400=Rs. 38,720
After 10% discount 90/100 × 38,720=Rs. 34,848
After 5% discount 95/100 × 34,848=Rs. 33,105
Net Selling Price of LED TV is=Rs. 33,105
10% discount on this price is the cost of a mobile phone.

VII. A bicycle marked at Rs. 5000 is sold for Rs. 3500. What is the percentage of discount?

Amount of discount = Marked Price – Selling Price

VIII. Geetha purchased a mini-fridge for Rs. 20000. The shopKeeper offered a discount of 20% on its listed price and still gains 10%. Find the listed price of the mini-fridge?
Solution:
Cost price of the mini-fridge = Rs.20000, Profit% = 10%.
Thus, selling price = {100 + profit %} /100 × CP
= Rs. 100+10)/100×20000
= Rs. (110/100)×20000
= Rs. 22000.
Now, Let the listed price be Rs. x.
Then, the discount = 20% of Rs.. x
= Rs. {x × (20/100)}
= Rs. 1x/5
Therefore, SP = (Listed Price) – (discount)
= Rs. (x – 1x/5)
