In this Worksheet on Operations on Whole Numbers, students can learn four basic operations i.e Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division with Whole Numbers. We use the above operations in our daily life. We have already learned about these operations and also solved different models of problems. Word Problems on Operations of Whole Numbers is the best way to encourage students to read and analyze the situation given in the question rather than simply solving them by numerics. This Operations on Whole Numbers Worksheets also helps the students to notice and use correct operations.

1. There are 345 women and 456 men working in a factory. The daily earning of each worker is Rs.85. What is the total wage of all the workers in the factory per day?
Solution:
Given
Number of women = 345
Number of men = 456
Total number of workers = Number of men + Number of women
= 456 + 345
=801
Daily earning of each worker = Rs.85
Total wage of all workers is = Daily earning of each worker * Total number of workers
= 85 * 801
= 68085
Therefore, the Total wage of all workers in the factory per day = Rs. 68085
2. Annie bought 5675 red ribbons, 4327 blue ribbons, and 7865 green ribbons for the decoration of a hall.
a) What is the total number of ribbons she bought?
b)How many fewer red ribbons than green ribbons were bought?
c)If the cost of each ribbon is rs.6. What is the total amount annie paid for all the ribbons?
Solution:
Given
Number of red ribbons = 5675
Number of blue ribbons = 4327
Number of green ribbons = 7865
Cost of each ribbon = Rs.6
a) Total number of ribbons = Number of red ribbons + Number of blue ribbons + Number of green ribbons
= 5675 + 4327 + 7865
= 17867
b)Number of red ribbons less than the green ribbons = Number of green ribbons – Number of red ribbons
= 7865 – 5675
=2190
c) Total cost of ribbons = Cost of each ribbon * Total number of ribbons
= 6 * 17867
=107202
Hence, Total number of ribbons annie bought = 17867
Number of red ribbons less than the green ribbons = 2190
Total amount paid by annie for ribbons =107202
3. Students in high school are split into 5 equal classes of 30 students. The School decides to increase the number of classes to 6. How many students will there be in each of the new classes if the students are divided equally between them?
Solution:
Given
Number of classes already there = 5
Number of students = 30 * 5 = 150
Number of classes increased = 6
Number of students in each new class = Number of students ÷ Number of classes increased
= 150 ÷ 6
= 25
Hence, Number of students in each class = 25
4.Weight of 320 wheat bags is 32,000 kgs.
a)What is the weight of 1 wheat bag?
b)What is the weight of 151 wheat bags?
Solution:
Given
Number of wheat bags = 320
Weight of 320 wheat bags = 32000
a) weight of 1 wheat bag = weight of 320 wheat bags ÷ Number of wheat bags
= 32000 ÷ 320
= 100
b) Weight of 151 bags = weight of 1 wheat bag * 151
=100 * 151
= 15100
Hence, Weight of 1 wheat bag = 100 kg
Weight of 151 wheat bags = 15100 kgs
5. The total production of sugar in India in the previous three years is 5568796 kgs.If the production in first two years is 345623anf 2378543 kg respectively. Find the quantity of sugar produced in the third year.
Solution:
Given
Sugar produced in three years = 5568796 kg
Sugar produced in the first year = 345623 kg
Sugar produced in the second year = 2378543 kg
Total sugar produced in first 2 years = Sugar produced in first year + Sugar produced in the second year
= 345623 + 2378543
= 2724166
Sugar produced in the third year = Sugar produced in three years – Sugar produced in two years
= 5568796 – 2724166
= 2844630
Hence, the quantity of sugar produced in the third year = 2844630 kg
6. A factory produces 1284435 bulbs in a year( 365 days). How many bulbs will it produce in the month of May?
Solution:
Given
Number of bulbs produced in 365 days = 1284435
Number of bulbs produced in 1 day = Number of bulbs produced in 365 days ÷ Number of days
= 1284435 ÷ 365
= 3519
Number of bulbs in may = Number of bulbs produced in 1 day * Number of days in may
= 3519 * 31
= 109089
Hence, Number of bulbs the factory will produce in the month of may = 109089
7. Arun sold 287 mobile phones for Rs. 7659 each. From this money, he bought 369 watches. Find the cost of each watch.
Solution:
Given
Number of mobile phones = 287
Cost of 1 mobile phones = Rs. 7659
Cost of 287 mobile phones = Cost of 1 mobile phones * Number of mobile phones
= 7659 * 287
= Rs.2198133
Cost of each watch = 2198133 ÷ 369
=5957
Hence, Cost of each watch = Rs. 5957.
8. A farmer produced 367458 red apples and 265984 green apples. He mixed these apples and packed them in 462 boxes. How many apples did he pack in a box if 40 apples remain unpacked?
Solution:
Given
Number of red apples produced = 367458
Number of green apples produced= 265984
Total number of apples produced = Number of red apples produced + Number of green apples produced
= 367458 + 265984
= 633442
Number of apples unpacked = 40
Number of apples packed = Total number of apples produced – Number of apples unpacked
= 633442 – 40
= 633402
Number of boxes for packing = 462
Apples packed in one box = Number of apples packed ÷ Number of boxes for packing
= 633402 ÷ 462
=1371
Therefore, Apples in each box = 1371.
9. There are 42306 trees in a forest. Of these, 23749 are teak trees 16675 are subabhul trees in the forest. How many remaining trees are there in the forest?
Solution:
Given
Number of total trees in the forest = 42306
Number of teak trees = 23749
Number of subabhul trees = 16675
Number of teak and subabhul trees = Number of teak trees + Number of subabhul trees
= 23749 + 16675
=40154
Number of remaining trees = Total number of trees – Number of teak and subabhul trees
= 42306 – 40154
= 2152
Hence, Number of trees remaining = 2152.
10. A woman has Rs.650 in her purse. She gave rs.350 to 7 children. How much money does she have left? How much money did the child get?
Solution:
Given,
Amount she has in the purse = Rs. 650
Amount she gave to children = Rs. 350
Number of children = 7
each child will get = amount she gave to children ÷ Number of children
= 350 ÷ 7
= 50.
Amount of money she left with = total money in her purse – Money she gave it to children
= 650 – 350
= 300
Hence, the Amount of money she left with is Rs.300
The amount of money each child got is RS.50
